Spend a day behind the scenes at Mount Vernon with SGHS Charter Member Dean Norton (and his bugle!) in this spectacular interview with Clemson World magazine. Eye-popping photos and a short-but-cinematic video accompany the story of Norton’s notable contributions to preservation gardening, including his recent admission to the Committee for the Preservation of the White House by President Biden. Active with SGHS since 1982, Norton is a past president (2010 to 2012) and has organized five annual meetings. He is a Clemson alumnus and director of horticulture and livestock at George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate.
